1. What's your name? How old are you? How would you describe yourself?
oliver, 18, quiet and enthusiastic.
2. What was your upbringing like?
i grew up with both my parents and two younger siblings. both sets of grandparents lived close by so i saw them often as well. i was quiet and respectful ("a joy to have in the classroom!") and mostly kept to myself, which meant my relationship to my parents wasn't super duper in my early teens. now its pretty good. i get along with my brother pretty well, and on some days with my sister as well. she's only 12 though, so i think it'll only get better as she ages.
3. What are your hobbies? How do you like to spend your free time?
coding. scrolling through youtube or tumblr. i’d say art but nowadays thats mostly for school.
4. What kind of music do you like?
musicals. things like the crane wives and AlicebanD. punk like bikini kill and the taxpayers and bad religion. indie pop/rock like mitski and bears in trees. weirder stuff like will wood and johannes is zijn naam. classics like bowie, the kinks and t. rex.
5. Favorite movies / TV shows?
favourite movies are probably notting hill, amélie and pride (2014). tv shows are downton abbey and one day at a time. currently watching call the midwife.
6. Do you like any video games?
i like minecraft but don’t play it very much bc if i stare at my computer for too long i get motion sickness. other than that i mostly pay browser games from itch io
7. Favorite literature? This could be a novel, a book series, a comic, etc.
i like reading but don’t have a lot of time to do so. i like agatha christie. i like marauders fanfiction (especially if it has a happy ish end). currently reading the cadence of part-time poets by motswolo.
8. How has art affected your life?
i mean, i am an art student. going into the performing arts saved my life and going into the visual arts saved my life again. it has caused me stress and cry sessions with my mum, but it has given me so much love and passion in my heart.
9. What are your hopes for the future of humanity?
kindness
10. Any hopes or aspirations for your own future?
kindness and non-baldness (and if i do go bald i hope for a sick beard)
11. If sentient extraterrestrial life were to exist, what would you want to tell them about humanity?
music and art (especially cave paintings)
12. Do you currently have / have you had any pets or livestock?
at home we have a dog, 3 fish, 2 bunnies, and 6 chickens. the neighbour’s cat comes over frequently as well. we have a bit of land that a guy my dad knows puts his sheep on when his own grass isn’t long enough anymore. various birds and rats come visit as well.

no. sometimes when i see how much strength my oma gets from her religion, i wish i were.

18. What makes you happy?
coffeebreaks with my mom, car rides & sharing music with my dad, talking to my friends. when i succesfully say a sentence or even word in our dialect. sleeping & feeling rested. mellowcakes
19. What kind of food do you like to eat?
anything my mom makes, usually pretty standard belgian/flemish dishes. now im studying in a bigger city i do want to try out new foods from different cultures, though new = scary. been craving a julientje lately. use a translator to read the link, don't set the wikipedia language to english or it's about something else lol
20. Do you have a favorite animal?
not sure tbh. i like all our animals. especially my chickens. always love seeing horses, makes me nostalgic to back when i did horsebackriding.
21. Do you have a favorite color?
in design i love red accents. in clothing i like black and green.
22. What do you wish you had known earlier?
i don’t feel like i have any wisdom to be honest. might answer this one later, when im older and wiser.
